Windsor Live Music: The Diableros (Toronto) play Phog Friday November 30th with Salt of The Chief Cornerstone & Self Centre...dammit we're lucky!

The Diableros play Friday November 30th.
This is going to be beautiful.
From Maple Music:
"The Diableros are known for creating an intense sound, brooding instrumentation rounded out by Carmichael's valiant and honest vocal delivery. The live show mirrors the intensity of their recorded output evident through the blood that often ends up on Jackson's guitar after many of their gigs.
There's only so many words that can entice one to listen to an album. The above prose a brief glimpse into a band who prefer that you just listen to their records and come see them play rather than read about their exploits. The Diableros live and breathe music, they are a group of friends, who despite the weight of some of their songs, don't take themselves too seriously.

Listen to the album, enjoy it, play it as loud as you can, you'll find that it will suit your sunny Sunday afternoon as much as it does a late Saturday night. Come see them live and be sure to say hi."

ALSO!!!!
MUST READ!!!
I must add here that Salt of The Chief Cornerstone (SOTCC) will be making a much anticipated return with Self Centre opening the show.
Apparently, SOTCC destroyed the last time they played.
This two-piece was the talk of the week following their last show.
Come see this and you will likely be as impressed with the local talent as much as the mighty Diableros.

Calling all crafters...

The first two weeks of December is the Original T-Shirt Art Show again...
We are totally open to things other than t-shirts...as it is an opportunity to showcase your wares for sale before the Christmas season passes.
It is an awesome opportunity for the public to buy original artwork in the form of a handbag, t-shirt, framed print, printed scarf, printed toque, or printed anything really!

This is an open call to those of you who wish to take advantage of this time.
Start making things!!!
Make the best stuff possible!
We will have an opening night for this event, which will be decided upon this week...but I need some commitments from people, willing to bring in their work for sale during December 1 until December 15th.

Hopefully you can contribute!

Windsor Live Music: Ladyhawk (Vancouver) w/ Attack In Black (Welland, ON) & Casey Baker & The Buffalo Sinners (Toronto) & Orphan Choir

Ladyhawk (Vancouver) w/ Attack In Black (Welland, ON) & Casey Baker & The Buffalo Sinners (Toronto) & Orphan Choir will all be playing Wednesday November 14th.
Tickets are moving FAST!
They are only $10!!
This show is going to be amazing, and it will be one you will hear about if you aren't in attendance.
All of these bands have histories and testimonials that place them on the pedestals they deserve to be on...so go visit their myspace links, and listen.
Ladyhawk is a band that we've been wanting to get at Phog for years. They are simply on another level of achievement than most touring bands. What an album! This thing has been in heavy rotation at Radio 3.
And Attack in Black!
They were on the cover of Exclaim! Magazine two months ago! They're everywhere I look!
They're on TV, in magazines, playing halftime shows! They are going to draw a large crowd, so if you have any interest in seeing a show of this calibre, get tickets before ASAP.

Windsor Live Music: Phog Weekend November 9th & 10th

This upcoming weekend holds two pretty darn great shows.
It's a nice weekend to return home to after a week off.
Friday November 9th
Go Ghetto, Tiger (Vancouver) w/ Square Root of Margaret (Chatham)
The thing about this pair is that they are different.
Go Ghetto, Tiger is an unpredictable band, with a sound varying from song to song, which should fit well with the keyboard-laden Square Root of Margaret.
I think Friday will be a fun atmosphere, with new, interesting music.
If you don't know already, the Square Root fellas put out a new record recently, and in my opinion, it is the best thing they've ever released. I was thoroughly impressed. This music, live, should impress much the same way.

Saturday November 10th
The Locusts Have No King (Windsor) w/ Les Kilt (Toronto) & The Schomberg Fair (Toronto)
To begin with, Les Kilt booked the show. They sounded amazing. Quiter than the other two bands, who I subsequently booked, to support the show.

The Schomberg Fair samples online knocked me down right away. I knew I liked it in the first few moments I listened. And the style reminded me of how perfect The Locusts Have No King would accompany this group and finish off the night with a bang.
This Saturday will be really bloody good.
